Sacramento, Capitol Mall

Wikipedia - Capitol Mall for historic details.
My wife and I were visiting family in Sacramento. We stayed at a hotel that was within walking distance of the Capitol Mall and took the opportunity for a brief walk to admire the California State Capitol building and its surroundings.
The trees were huge. Ying is standing next to one for scale.

I’m still focused on the trees. They are beautiful.

The plaque attached to this one indicates that the tree species is native to China.

We were looking into the sun. This gave me the opportunity to use it as a halo affect on the top of the Capitol building.

Closer up to see the statues and decorations on the building.

There were a lot of palm trees as well.

These statues are some very touching tributes to the fallen heroes of war.

Other government buildings and a central fountain.
